Art Wolfe Stamp

Seattle photographer Art Wolfe, '75, had the honor of having one of his photographs selected to appear on a stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of California's statehood. The photograph captures the grandeur of California's coastal environment, featuring cliff tops at the southern end of the Big Sur coastline. It was the second Wolfe photograph that has been selected for a stamp. Image courtesy U.S. Postal Service.

Bank of America Arena

A new Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion debuted Nov. 24 when the Husky women's basketball team played the University of Connecticut. The 20-month project boosted seating capacity from 7,900 to more than 10,000 and eliminated obstructed views in the 73-year-old structure. The renovation restored huge, arched windows on the southwest side of the pavilion that had been painted over for many years. Total cost of the project was about $40 million in both public and private funds. Photo by Kathy Sauber.
