Jobs, Fun, Passion: Younger Alumni Can Keep Connected Through 19 Events

After months of research, surveys and planning, the University of Washington Alumni Association is launching a comprehensive program of activities designed for people who have graduated from the UW in the past 10 years. Here is a list of Seattle area events and programs that start in December.

December 11: Centerpoint Orientation/Special Husky Session, noon, Centerpoint Institute for Life and Career Renewal, 603 Stewart Ave., Suite 1018, Seattle. This not-for-profit organization's mission is to inspire its clients to discover creativity, passion and renewed commitment in life and at work. Free. December 11-14: Dependable Strengths Seminar, Thursday & Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., UW Center for Career Services on Seattle campus. January/February: Early Career Passion Search, Thursdays, 6:15 p.m., dates to be announced, Centerpoint Institute for Life and Career Renewal, 603 Stewart Ave., Suite 1018, Seattle. This 10-session workshop is specifically designed for alumni in their 20s and 30s who want to be in the company of peers. This Lee Hecht Harrison workshop presents the critical elements of a job search and how to create measurable ways to track progress and expedite finding your next position. $12 UWAA members, $15 general. January 27-31: Career Discovery Week in Seattle and Bothell. More than 50 workshops and panel presentations to assist students and alumni in exploring a wide range of career directions. Free. January 28: Husky Career Lunch, 12:30 p.m., HUB East Ballroom. An opportunity for UW students and alumni to have lunch and network at a table hosted by alumni in their field of interest. $7 registration fee ($5 before Jan. 18). For more information or to register online, go to .

January 28: Husky Night at the Sonics-Pre-Game Event, Experience Music Project's Turntable Restaurant and Liquid Lounge. Alumni receive 10 percent off your bill in Turntable Restaurant with your UWAA membership card. Also experience happy hour in the Liquid Lounge.

January 28: Husky Night at the Sonics, Seattle Sonics vs. Golden State Warriors, 7 p.m., Key Arena. Alumni get discounts on game tickets and food coupons. Call the UWAA at 1-800-AUW-ALUM. Join us in EMP's Liquid Lounge after the game for happy hour drink prices and free live music.

January 31: Husky Night at EMP, Experience Music Project, Seattle Center. Alumni receive $5 off adult museum admission, including the new exhibit DISCO-A Decade of Saturday Nights. Dawgs receive 10% off your bill in the Turntable Restaurant. To receive the above discounts show your UWAA membership card. Also experience happy hour in the Liquid Lounge 4-7 p.m.
