Double Shot of Coffee

Seattle famously drinks more coffee than any other American city. This year, the UW has cooked up two new ways for Seattleites to consume their beloved brew: a museum exhibition and a lecture series. Through June 7, the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture will be hosting "Coffee: The World in Your Cup"—a show that explores the global impact of coffee on our environment, culture and economy, beginning with its early origins in Africa. Most delectably, the exhibition includes coffee tastings and demonstrations on weekends. Accompanying the show is "Coffee: From the Grounds Up," an eight-week public seminar series hosted by the UWAA and the UW's Program on the Environment. It runs Tuesdays from April 7 to May 26 in Kane Hall 210. Visit the Coffee: From the Grounds Up page for more information.
