UWAA Offers Long-Distance
Discounts For Homes, Business

Benefits available to UW Alumni Association members just got better with the addition of a long-distance telephone discount program.

Alumni association members who own businesses will especially benefit from the UWAA 5 percent discount being offered by LDDS/Metromedia. LDDS, the nation's fourth-largest long-distance carrier, also offers a discount program for residential services. In addition to the rate break for subscribers, the program will generate funds for UW alumni relations programs. To request more information, call LDDS toll-free at 1-800-SERVICE.

In other member benefit news, the alumni association will publish a member directory early this summer. Members will be listed alphabetically, by year of graduation and by geographic location. You must be a member of the UWAA both to be listed in the directory and to qualify for purchase of the directory.

In other developments, members who hold a UWAA/Seafirst VISA or MasterCard enjoyed a big change in that program--the dropping of the annual fee, effective Feb. 1. Other possible benefits in the works for UWAA members are discounted rates for access to the Internet and a career networking program.

Members currently receive a wide array of benefits including use of the UW libraries and merchandise discounts at the University Book Store, the Tequila Club, and the Dawg House. For more information on these and other benefits, contact the UWAA at (206) 543-0540 or 1-800-AUW-ALUM or send e-mail to uwalumni@u.washington.edu on the Internet.
