Edgar HorwoodThe late Edgar Horwood was an entertaining and informative instructor. But more importantly he was an effective mentor of students. He pointed me to my first job as an entry level engineer. Then he encouraged me to return to graduate school for my masters in civil engineering and to stay on for my Ph.D. We continued to relate via professional associations, but it was not until his retirement party did I realize how many students he impacted in a similar way. And we all had humorous Edgar stories to tell. Kenneth J. Dueker, '60 |
