Presidential Search Continues

As Columns went to press in late August, the UW Board of Regents was continuing to look for a new president following the departure of former President Richard L. McCormick last December.

A search advisory committee chaired by Vice President for Medical Affairs Paul Ramsey had given the board a list of potential candidates in June. According to press reports, at least two of those candidates later withdrew their names from consideration.

While the regents continue their work, Interim President Lee Huntsman will continue to lead the University. Huntsman has been UW provost since 1997 and on the UW faculty since 1968. For more information about the search, visit the Presidential Search site.
